Just returned from a meeting at Cockfield club and although we’re not out of the woods yet, the future is looking a lot brighter,
The club have applied for a further three months stay of closure to finalise and agree the debt figure to the Inland Revenue.
Although I can’t reveal those figures, (they have to stay within the confines of the meeting and not be published in the press) things are a lot better than many of the members thought.
The club is making a healthy profit now and if the support from members continues, there is no reason why it cannot come out of administration in the New Year.
Bands supported with a disco will become a monthly feature from now on, starting on Saturday 10th October with the fantastic show group WALL STREET. They will be supported by Double Barrel Disco. Tickets are £3-50 and the entertainment starts at 8-00pm.
On the 14th November, the group TRAVELLING BAND is booked, again supported by the same disco.
Events are organised for the Christmas period including a Boxing Day Special, when the super group SAX SYMBOLS will be on stage from early afternoon.
What a day that will be!!
I’ll update all events as I get them.
WELL DONE to ALL the committee and members for all their hard work, it looks like we’re going to pull it off after all.
